PURPOSE: To prevent the corrosion of a thin metallic film layer and to make the use term of a prepaid card longer by forming a corrosion preventing layer consisting of corrosion-resistant substance on the cut end surface of an information recording card formed by cutting a sheet provided with the thin metallic film layer.

CONSTITUTION: The prepaid card 1 is formed by laminating a magnetic recording layer 3, the thin metallic film layer 4 and a protection layer 5 on a base material 2 and providing the corrosion preventing layers 6 and 7 on the punched and cut end surface 1a of the card. The corrosion-resistant substance such as polyester resin, urethane resin and acrylic resin is used singly or in a mixed system for the layers 6 and 7. Besides using the resin, it is formed by being coated with metallic oxide such as silicon oxide, aluminum oxide, and titanium oxide by vapor deposition. Thus, the corrosion resistance of the metallic thin film layer is improved and the use term of the prepaid card is made longer.
