To provide an information recording medium low in cost, excellent in workability and the random property of a pattern to be intrinsic information, having high read accuracy and high reproducibility, capable of preventing unauthorized actions such as falsification and alteration and reduced in the effects of the recording and read of a magnetic recording layer.
This recording medium 1 is formed by laminating the magnetic recording layer 13 at the upper part or the lower part with a magnetic pattern layer 12 for indicating an irregular pattern whose maximum layer thickness is 8μm. Also, a soft magnetic material provided with coercive force equal to or less than 60[Oe] or the mixed material of the soft magnetic material provided with the coercive force equal to or less than 60[Oe] and a magnetic material provided with the coercive force equal to or more than 200[Oe] is used for the magnetic pattern layer 12. Thus, the effects onto the magnetic recording layer 13 are reduced, the jitter fluctuation and output fluctuation of the FM recording of the magnetic recording layer 13 are reduced and the magnetic recording and read of the information to/from the magnetic recording layer 13 are stably performed.
