Abstract:
To distribute rental contents through a network.
Disclosed is an information reproducing method of reproducing an information recording medium where ciphered contents purchased through the network, purchase type information showing the contents purchased are rented with a reproduction time limit or sold without reproduction time limit. The purchase type information is discriminated and when the content is rented, reproduction time limit information is received from an authentication server to determine whether the reproduction time limit has expired or not; when the time limit has not expired, a key is requested from a key managing server to reproduce the ciphered contents by using the key sent from the key managing server.
