PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium reproducing device in which a degree of freedom in the place to install a main body of device is improved by loading a recording medium into the information recording medium reproducing device with an irreducibly minimum work space.
SOLUTION: In the information recording medium reproducing device provided with a feed means for feeding the recording medium, on which information is recorded, between a prescribed housing position for housing the medium inside a casing and a recording and reproducing position for reading or writing information from or to the recording medium, this device is provided with an opening provided on the upper face of the casing, a recording medium holding means provided movable between the housing position and the recording and reproducing position while housing the recording medium inserted from the opening and a lid body provided movable along with the upper face of the casing for opening/closing the opening and the feed means moves the lid body and the recording medium holding means in any one of opposite directions, moves the lid body to the upper face side of the lid body different from the opening, moves the recording medium holding means to the housing position when opening the opening, and moves the recording medium holding means to the recording and reproducing position when closing the opening by moving the lid body to the side of the opening.
