To automatically record and preserve video data in a specified folder suited to a recording condition and to perform recording and reproduction even in other equipment according to a specified standard such as a DVD and a BD (Blu-ray disc) in a system for recording and managing a large amount of the video data respectively for a plurality of folders.
The information recording and reproducing device comprises: an input means for inputting a user name and a password; a recording condition setting means for having a user set the recording condition such as the date and time of recording and a broadcasting channel when recording the video data; an acquisition means for acquiring folder attribute information set to each folder on a disk; a preparation means for newly preparing a folder when there is no folder suited to the recording condition set in the recording condition setting means; and an attribute setting means for setting the folder attribute information including the recording condition set in the recording condition setting means to the folder prepared in the preparation means.
