Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the total amount of recording of data to be recorded on a recording medium to have the same value as the amount of recording by a recording operation which is instructed from a host computer, etc.
SOLUTION: A recording completion address is calculated by adding a recording length to a recording start address which is specified from the host computer,etc. in S18, when the recording completion address is judged larger than the maximum recording address stored in a memory in S19, the maximum recording address stored in the memory is updated in S20 and data are recorded on an optical disk in S21, and when it is judged that a closing command is received from the computer, etc. in S22, the maximum recording capacity stored in the memory is recorded on the prescribed area of the optical disk as the total recording capacity of data or the maximum recording address stored in the memory is recorded on the prescribed area of the disk in S23.
