Abstract:
PURPOSE:To perform high speed access by providing a 1st means for moving a movable head into a desired radial position of a recording medium at the time of recording and reproducing and a 2nd means for moving the movable head into a position of noninterference with a cartridge at the time of loading/ unloading the cartridge and at the time of finishing the use. CONSTITUTION:A movable plate 23 and a feed plate 25 are integrally moved in the direction of -X by the forward rotation of a motor 20. The plate 25 is brought into contact with pins 36a and 36b on a base 26 and is stopped, while the movable plate 23 is only moved. Consequently, a guide pin 29 for a vertically moving lever 28 is lifted along a guide groove 31, and is turned around pins 27 of the lever 28 to lower the head onto a disk. By turning the lever 28, a lock pin 30 is moved to an upper part of an arm to release the head. A movable range of the head in the directions of + or -X is from an abutting part 37b of the lever 28 to an abutting part 37a of the feed plate 25. When a protrusion 23a of the movable plate 23 reaches a prescribed position, this is detected by a sensor 41 on the base 26 to stop the motor 20. By this constitution, a breaking accident to the head and the disk due to their contact can thus be prevented.
