PURPOSE: To immediately service latest information to a user without depending on the manual operation of the user when the latest information is acquired at an information center.
CONSTITUTION: A remote controller 6 is added to a terminal equipment 2, and a starter 13 for starting each remote controller 6 is provided at an information center 1. The remote controller 6 of the terminal equipment 2 side is started from this starter 13, and the various kinds of information for controlling the terminal equipment 2 are stored in the remote controller 6. Afterwards, the remote controller 6 converts the various kinds of stored information into bar code signals for operating the terminal equipment 2 and sends them to the terminal equipment 2. Based on the information of received bar code signals, the terminal equipment 2 performs connection with a host computer 12 of the information conter 1, receives the service of prescribed picture information from the information center 1, automatically stores the information in a memory 221 and display it on a display 23. Thus, the terminal equipment 2 can be remotely started from the information center 1 side, and the latest information is timely serviced to the user.
