Abstract:
PURPOSE:To record and reproduce large capacity of data with excellent sensitivity at high speed by recording plural pieces of bit information on a photosensitive layer consisting of high polymer liquid crystal composition by a holographic means. CONSTITUTION:Laser light is separated to recording light 119 and reference light 120 by a collimator lens 103 and a half mirror 104. The recording light 119 to which density modulation is given by a shutter array 112 is condensed on the photosensitive layer 114 consisting of the high polymer liquid crystal composition of an information storing medium 116 by a mirror 113. Meanwhile, the reference light 120 is condensed on the same position as the recording light by a mirror 105 and a condensing lens 108. Interference occurs between the condensed recording light 119 and the condensed reference light 120 and interference fringe is holographically recorded on the oriented high polymer liquid crystal composition of the photosensitive layer 114 consisting of the high polymer liquid crystal composition as the change of refractive index. Thus, the ultralarge capacity of data is recorded on the information storing medium 116 at high speed by the use of a hologram and the ultralarge capacity of data which is recorded is reproduced at high speed.
