Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve error correction possibility in the decoding of plural code groups.
SOLUTION: In branch metric operation circuits 43 and 44, humming distances corresponding to respective input data on first code groups inputted by input terminals 41 and 42 are operated. In ACAS circuits 47 and 50, the values of the state metrics are operated, selection information on a path is supplied to a path memory 56, the operation result of the state metric is supplied to the path memory 56, the operation result of the state metric is stored in state metric storage devices 51 and 54 and supplied to the path memory 56. When the decoding of the first code metric is terminated and a second code metric is inputted, the state metrics 51 and 54 are initialized and the decoding of the second code metric is started.
