An external electronic computer 101 is operated and data of 'portable terminal start' and a 'start terminal ID' are sent by infrared rays. A portable terminal 103 is brought in front of an infrared communication module 102 that is connected to the computer 101 and is located in the possible range of infrared communication. Thus, the terminal 103 receives infrared data, analyzes the receiving data, further analyzes the receiving data in the case of the 'portable terminal start' and decides whether it is the data of the 'start terminal ID' and whether it is the same as its own ID of the terminal 103. In the case of the same, a CPU controls a power supply control part, performs power supply of the entire blocks of the terminal 103 and starts the terminal 103.
