To provide a thin and small-sized and low-cost infrared detector, capable of easily forming a space for thermal insulation of the infrared detector.
The infrared detector A is constituted, enclosing in a circuit block 3 for mounting a pyroelectric element X, iC16, a chip-like electronic component 17 inside of a case, composed of a stem 1 and a cap 2. The circuit block 3 comprises a support receiving part for supporting both sides of the pyroelectric element X, at a convex part forming as a whole a concavo-convex part on the upper surface of the upper part of a resin layer 10, a concave part 11 as the space for the thermal insulation layer at the lower part of the detection part of the pyroelectric element X at the concave part position. At a second resin layer 8 below the concavo-convex part, IC16 mounted on the upper surface of a circuit substrate 7 is embedded integrally in the constitution.
