Title:
INFRARED HEATING APPARATUS FOR PRINTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3916757
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying apparatus for use in drying a substrate just printed such as a corrugated sheet.
SOLUTION: A plurality of infrared heat lamps are disposed under a path 16 of a corrugated sheet 14, and are physically isolated from the corrugated sheet through glass panels 108, 110. The heat lamps are cooled with the aid of an air stream. Pressurized air is supplied to a plurality of air bars 40 so as to exhaust the air through a hole in an upper surface in order to exhaust air to the corrugated sheet. The air exhausted to the corrugated sheet and used for cooling the heat lamps is collected and removed with a vacuum pump 48. The pump 48 is used to remove air containing water removed from the sheet with the aid of a combination of infrared heat and the high pressure air.
