PURPOSE:To increase the voltage change in an input control gate of a CCD by providing a switched capacitor circuit between an optical conversion diode array and the input control gate of the CCD and amplifying the open end voltage of the array to apply it to the gate. CONSTITUTION:When infrared rays are made incident on optical conversion diodes, switches S1-S4 and S8-S10 of a switched capacitor circuit 4 are turned on and switches S5-S7 of this circuit are turned off by the signal from a switch control circuit 5 in case of the charging mode. Then, capacities C01-C04 are connected in parallel to a diode 1 and are charged with an open end voltage Vop. In case of the discharging mode, switches S5-S7 are turned on the switches S1-S4 and S8-S10 are turned off, and capacities C01-C04 are connected in series between the earth and an input gate IG of a CCD 6, and simultaneously, the pulse voltage of a pulse generation source 7 is set to 0V and a current corresponding to a voltage 4Vop is charged into the CCD 6. The electric charge charged into the CCD 6 is read out in the discharging mode.
