Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain rigidity, high reliability, and infrared-ray intensity and to attain cost reduction by providing a resistance heat generation body on the surface of an infrared-ray emission body made of ceramic, and providing a reflection body which directs infrared rays not emitted in the forward direction from the infrared ray emission body to the front. CONSTITUTION:The resistance heat generation body 2 is provided at one end side of the flank 1a of the infrared-ray emission body 1 made of ceramic. Then a voltage is applied to the resistance heat generation body 2 through an electrode 3, then a large quantity of infrared rays are emitted. The infrared rays are emitted from the flank 1a of the infrared-ray emission body 1 at gap parts of the comb-shaped resistance heat generation body 2 of the infrared-ray emission body 1 as shown by arrows B, but reflected by the reflection body 4 as shown by arrows C to travel forward as well as infrared rays emitted from the end surface 1b. Thus, the generated infrared rays are emitted forward effectively. Consequently, the rigid, low-cost, and efficient infrared light source is obtained.
