Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared ray detection device for detecting infrared ray with an enhanced detection performance.SOLUTION: The infrared ray detection device includes: a support layer 6; a detection unit 1 formed on the support layer 6; and an infrared ray absorbing layer 10 formed over the detection unit 1. The detection unit 1 includes: a lower electrode layer 7; a pyroelectric layer 8 formed over the lower electrode layer 7; and an upper electrode layer 9 formed on the pyroelectric layer 8. The side faces of the detection unit 1 are covered with an infrared ray absorbing layer 10. The outer periphery end of the lower electrode layer 7 is positioned at the inner side than the outer periphery end of the pyroelectric layer 8, and the pyroelectric layer 8 is formed between the outer side faces of the lower electrode layer 7 and the inner side faces of the infrared ray absorbing layer 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
