To provide an infrared ray therapy apparatus which is small-sized, quickly responds to input power, highly efficiently radiates infrared rays for supply power, and is safely portable.
A planar pattern heater 1 of high infrared ray radiation rate is fixed inside a sealing housing 4 by an electrode part 5, an infrared ray transmission member 2 of high infrared ray transmittance is arranged on an infrared ray radiation surface side and an infrared ray reflection member 3 of high infrared ray reflectance is arranged on a surface on the opposite side with the planar pattern heater 1 as the center, and the planar pattern heater 1 is structured to be tightly sealed inside the sealing housing part. In the therapy apparatus, a shape such that the ratio of the thickness and the width constituting the cross section of the planar pattern heater 1 is between 1:20 and 1:100 is formed, and the width is increased as separating from the electrode part 5. The infrared ray therapy apparatus includes a heater drive control circuit part 7 for rapidly raising the temperature of the planar pattern heater 1 and controlling the temperature at a prescribed time interval, and a battery part 6 for supplying power.
