Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make an image-forming member adaptable as a xeroprinting master by including a read ray-sensitive layer contg. mainly photosensitive pigments and a softenable material contg. a softenable material, a charge transfer material and specific particle transfer marking material therein.
CONSTITUTION: This member has the IR or red ray-sensitive layer 13 contg. mainly the photosensitive pigments and the softenable layer 11 contg. the softenable material 11, the charge transfer material 16 and the particle transfer marking material 12 in which the IR or red ray-sensitive pigments 14 are mainly photosensitive to irradiation rays except the wavelengths to which the pigments are sensitive are incorporated into the surface of the layer or near the layer. Either of the softenable layer 11 or the red ray-sensitive layer 13 is brought into contact with a substrate 3 or an electrification blocking layer 7 of an arbitrary component. The particle transfer image forming member 2 having the softenable layer contg. such particle transfer marking material 12 is uniformly electrified and is exposed to IR rays or red rays to form an electrostatic image. The member is then exposed to electromagnetic rays for activation to soften the softenable material and the particle transfer marking material 12 is moved in image forming patterns toward the substrate 3.
