Title:
INFRARED VISIBLE WAVE LENGTH UPWARD TRANSFORMING MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3529162
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To attain practical transforming efficiency and sensitivity without necessitating previous excitation and without changing visible light emitting intensity by adding an element having absorption level in a specific wave length band together with an element having light emission level in visible region.
CONSTITUTION: This transforming material contains Dy as an adding material playing the leading role of absorption, an element of at least one or more of Na, Pr or Ho in the form of element or chloride as an adding material playing the leading role of light emission and at least Gd and Cl or a compound thereof containing no oxygen not fluorine as a base body material for stably incorporating these. And a light emitting peak wave length due to Nd3+ ion has highest light emission intensity in 580/600nm visible region and is recognized as yellow color by the naked eye. In the wave length transformation from 1.3μm band to visible light, the preliminary excitation is unnecessary. And the transforming material is free from the change of visible light emitting intensity even in the case of counting irradiation with 1.3μm infrared light and has sensitivity to infrared light of 1.3μm band and high sensitivity even to infrared light of 0.8μm band.
