PURPOSE: To prevent development of center porosity by pouring molten metal into a mold having the bottom part detecting this rising quantity in case solidification of the molten metal progresses and the last solidified part rises and descending the mold to substantially make constant height level of the last solidified part.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of pouring the molten steel 40 into the mold 30, the molten metal weight is detected by a load cell 20 and a detected signal is sent to a control part in a lifting device 28. Based on this, by conducting the prescribed current from the control part to a hydraulic oil supply part, the hydraulic oil is supplied to a cylinder 24 and a rod 26 is retreated into the cylinder 24 and the mold 30 is descended. By this method, crater end 43 in the mold 30 comes to stay almost at constant position, and flowing of the molten steel caused by rising shift of the last solidified part is prevented. Therefore, the development of the center segregation is prevented.
