NEW MATERIAL:A carbostyril derivative shown by formula I (A is alkylene; R1 is cycloalkylalkyl, cycloalkyl, tetrahydropyranylalkyl, alkylenedioxy- substituted alkyl, phenylalkyl or piperidylalkyl; R2 is heterocyclic alkyl, tetrahydropyranylthioalkyl, pyridylthioalkyl, alkylenedioxy-substituted alkyl or alkyl).

EXAMPLE: 6-[4-[N-Cyclohexylmethyl-N-[2-(2β-hydroxymethyl-1-pyrrolidinyl) ethyl]aminocarbonyl[buioxy]carbostyril.

USE: An inhibitor of blood platelet aggregation having long durable time of action and low toxicity especially to the heart.

PREPARATION: For example, a carboxycarbostyril derivative shown by formula II is reacted with an amine shown by formula III by ordinary amide bond formation reaction to give a compound shown by formula I.
