Abstract:

To provide an inhibitor of endoplasmic reticulum stress in cardiac muscle, which prevents and/or treats heart failure induced by endoplasmic reticulum stress by effectively suppressing cell death of cardiac muscle and lowering of cardiac functions by suppressing endoplasmic reticulum stress.

The inhibitor of endoplasmic reticulum stress in cardiac muscle comprises sodium 4-phenylbutyrate as an effective ingredient, and is parenterally administered in an amount of 4-12.5 mg in terms of sodium 4-phenylbutyrate per kg body weight per day.
