Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a new inhibitor of HIV protease, which is useful for preventing and treating HIV infection and/or AIDS.

CONSTITUTION: The objective compound is expressed by formula I [Z is H, formyl, carbamoyl, an alkanoyl, an alkoxycarbonyl or the like; R1 is an aryl, a cycloalkyl, S-RIX (RIX is an aryl or a cycloalkyl); R2 is side chain of an amino acid, (CH2)y-X-R2a (X is a bond, an alkenyl, CO, O, S or the like; R2a is an alkyl, an aryl, a hetero ring or the like; (y) is 0-3), a cyanoalkyl or the like; Y is an aryl or an unsaturated hetero ring; R3 is formulae II-VII ((p) is 4 or 5; (l) is 3-5; R4 is H, an alkyl or a hydroxyalkyl; R5, R6 are each R4, OH, an alkoxy, NH2, an aryl or the like)], e.g. [2R-(2R*,3S*,6S*)]-N-t-butyl-2-[2- hydroxy-3-phenylmethyl4-aza-5-oxo-6-N(t-butoxycarbonyl)amino-7- benzyloxycarbonyl]hepthylbenzamide.
