To provide an inhibitor switch capable of avoiding unintentional conduction due to conductive foreign matter in oil while controlling manufacturing cost by making oil not easily immerse into a parting hole for parting a parting part, and an method for manufacturing the same.

In the inhibitor switch 1 provided with a terminal stand 2 fixed in a transmission case, contact plates 3, 4, an operation part 5 operating along the contact plates 3, 4 with interlocking with the select lever of a vehicle, a movable contact 5b capable of sliding on the contact plates 3, 4 and forming a predetermined electric circuit according to a contact position thereof, the parting parts 8, 9 divided to block conduction, and the parting hole 10formed at a position corresponding to the parting parts 8, 9 on the terminal stand 2 and allowing a cutting means 7 for dividing the parting parts 8, 9 to be fitted therein, and detecting a shift position of a select lever from an electric circuit, a wall part 11 is provided erectly at a circumference edge part of the parting hole 10.
