Abstract:

To provide an initial setting screen display device and an automatic initial setting method in which, after the installment of an apparatus, a region therefor is autonomously estimated and a proper initial setting screen is displayed to ease the burden on an operator relating to initial setting.

A control unit 30 is connected to a network 20 when power is turned on, and according to a region estimated based on information obtained by access to a specific server 10, the control unit 30 reads initial setting screen information for the corresponding destination from a storage unit 31 to display it on a display unit 32. Thus, when power is turned on first after the installment of an apparatus, a region therefor is autonomously estimated to display an optimum initial setting screen for the destination.
