Title:
INJECTION TUBE WITH VITREOUS COATING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004268141
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method for preventing air from being included in molten metal or alloy so as not to damage products, even when a wall of an injection tube for die casting is gas permeable.

The injection tube made of ceramic has a vitreous coating thereon. The coating is formed, for example, by mixing glass frit and deionized water in an appropriate proportion, coating a surface of the ceramic-made injection tube with the mixture, and then heating the mixture to produce the vitreous coating. The coating can reduce or eliminate the flow of air through the gas permeable wall when air pressure is applied on the molten metal or alloy in a vessel during die casting.
