PURPOSE: To prevent the reduction in the pressing force of a recording head by inserting the recording head in a container at the predetermined position thereof and energizing an ink sheet in the direction opposite to the recording head.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of recording, a motor for driving a taking-up reel is driven so that the rotary peripheral speed of the taking-up reel becomes slightly faster than that of a platen roller 6b so as to prevent the slackening of the ink sheet fed by the platen roller 6b and the fast component is absorbed by a slip clutch 35. Therefore, the ink sheet is taken up by the taking-up reel while receives front tension. Since the reel driving motor 32 on the side of a supply reel 2 is locked, the supply reel 2 receives the sliding load of the slip clutch 35 and is rotated with the delivery of the ink sheet and back tension is applied to the ink sheet by this sliding load. By this method, the reduction in the pressing force to the ink sheet by a recording head is prevented.
