Abstract:

To provide an ink composition which gives images excellent in color development and abrasion resistance and decreased in thickness unevenness, also has excellent storage stability and can decrease nozzle clogging, and to provide an inkjet recording method using the same.

There is provided an ink composition which is applicable to an ink-absorbing recording medium and an ink lowly absorbing or nonabsorbing recording medium and comprises a pigment contained in a particulate resin dispersant, an alkyl polyol having 180-230°C boiling point at 1 atm equivalent and a polymer particle having <200 nm volume average particle diameter and <100°C MFT and which contains practically no alkyl polyol having ≥280°C boiling point at 1 atm equivalent, wherein the polymer particle is one at least containing a copolymer using an olefinic monomer and a halogen-containing monomer or one at least containing a polycondensate of a polycarboxylic acid and a polyalcohol.
