Title:
INK COMPOSITION AND PRINTED MATTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3639479
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that in printed matter printed in white on colored paper with an ink composition comprising a resin, hollow microsphere, a dispersing solvent, etc., the white print is tend to disappear when a thinner is splashed on the print or kept at a high temperature and that the ink composition has difficulty in adhesion to a resin based printing surface such as a PVC sheet.
SOLUTION: The ink composition comprises 2-20 wt.%, based on the total weight, resin, 5-25 wt.%; hollow microsphere and a dispersing solvent mainly comprising water and at least one kind of alcohols having melting points of 55-120°C. The hollow microsphere has at least 60% methyl isobutyl ketone insoluble components, the outer diameter of the hollow microsphere is 0.2-1 μm, and the ratio of the inner diameter to the outer diameter is at least 0.4. The ink composition has excellent whiteness of the print to a colored surface to be printed, solvent resistance and heat resistance. Further, when a polyurethane resin is added in the ink composition, an ink composition that has high adhesion to a resin surface such as a PVC sheet is obtained.
