To provide an ink composition for a stamp base or a permeating seal in which a pigment is sufficiently dispersed and a clean and clear seal impression can be obtained without blotting even easily absorptive paper such as Japanese paper.
The ink composition for the stamp base or the permeating seal contains one or two or more of main solvents selected from among polyethylene glycol and polypropylene glycol, a pigment, a resin soluble to the solvent, and a metal soap insoluble to the solvent. In the ink composition for the stamp base or the permeating seal, the metal soap is one or two or more of metal soaps selected from among barium stearate, aluminum stearate, barium laurate, aluminum laurate, barium p-t-butylbenzoate and aluminum p-t-butylbenzoate.
