To provide an ink composition giving a high-quality image on a plain paper, especially having excellent ejection stability, storage stability, color developing property and fixability in the case of using in an ink-jet recording method and giving a good image having extremely little mixed color blot and non-uniform print density.
The ink composition containing a polyether-modified polysiloxane of formula (I) and 1,4-pentanediol gives a high-quality image on a plain paper. In consideration of the above finding, recording is carried out by using an ink composition at least containing a pigment, the compound expressed by formula (I) and 1,5-pentanediol. In the formula, R1 to R7 are each independently a 1-6C alkyl; j and k are each independently an integer of ≥0; EO is ethyleneoxy group; PO is propyleneoxy group; l, m and n are each an integer of ≥0 provided that m+n is an integer of ≥1; and there is no restriction on the order of EO and PO in brackets [ ] and the arrangement may be random or block.
