To provide an ink composition capable of realizing a recorded image having good light resistance without impairing the hue of a color material.
The ink composition includes an anthrapyridone dye represented by formula (I) and a water-soluble copper compound. In formula (I), M1 is hydrogen, NH4, or Na; R1 is hydrogen, optionally substituted alkyl, optionally substituted aryl, or optionally substituted benzoyl; R2 is hydrogen or optionally substituted alkyl; R3 is hydrogen, halogen, or optionally substituted alkyl; R4 is hydrogen, optionally substituted NH4 or optionally substituted sulfonic acid group; and R5 is acyl or a group represented by formula (II), wherein X and Y are each independently chlorine, hydroxyl, amino, monoethanolamino, diethanolamino, morpholino, anilino, or phenol, provided that in the groups described above, each part of hydrogen atom part may be substituted by one or more kinds of substituents.
