Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an ink feed mechanism which can feed ink from a main ink tank to a sub ink tank without connecting the main ink tank on a fixing side to the sub ink tank on a moving carriage with a tube or the like.
CONSTITUTION: A sub ink tank feeding ink to an ink jet head 10 is mounted on a carriage 16 on which the ink jet head 10 is mounted and which is reciprocated. A main tank 50 is fitted to a fixing side near a scan line of the carriage 16. The sub ink tank is equipped with a joint nozzle 56 capable of expanding and shrinking. When the carriage 16 comes to a specific ink feed position, the sub ink tank is bonded to the main ink tank with the joint nozzle 56, and the ink 12 is fed to the sub ink tank.
