Abstract:
PURPOSE:To check loss of ink and infiltration of air during the exchange of a print head by providing a seal member relatively movable with a hollow needle into an ink feed connection receiver the elastically seal up the tip of the hollow needle for ink connection. CONSTITUTION:A mounting body 78 of a receiver for ink feed connection is mounted under a base plate 58 through an opening 70. A hollow needle 18 mounted at the end of a tube connected to the mounting body 78 pierces a partition 44' housed in the mounting body 78. When removing the tube, the hollow needle 18' is pulled out through the partition 44', the hole of the partition 44' is closed again to check the infiltration of air into a print head and the leakage of ink from the print head. The partition 44' employs an elastic body diaphragm (septum).
