PURPOSE: To make the feed of ink without staying on the surface of an rail possible, by a method wherein ink repellent coating material is spread on the ink rail of a rotary press and an ultrasonic wave exciter is set on the opposite surface of a roll.

CONSTITUTION: An ultrasonic wave exciter 10 is installed near an ink feed part, and an ultrasonic wave receiver 11 near the top of an ink rail. Further,an ink repellent material 12 (for instance, silicone rubber) is spread from the vicinity of the outlet of the surface 9a facing the ink delivery roller 3 of an ink rail body 9 to is outside. Thus, if ultrasonic wave excitation is given to the ink rail body 9 with the ultrasonic wave exciter 10 and the said ultrasonic wave excitation is absorbed with the ultrasonic wave receiver 11, the progressive wave of elastic surface wave form generates in the ink rail body 9. Though the positions of the ultrasonic wave exciter and the receiver are reversed, the same effect can be also obtained.
