Abstract:

To provide an electron emitting element an electron source, and an imaging device using the same, having superior electron emitting property.

The manufacturing method of a surface conduction type electron emitting element includes a process of forming a conductive thin film 4 connecting a pair of element electrodes 2, 3 formed on a plate-shaped base board 1 with each other, and a process of forming an electron emitting part 5 at a part of the conductive thin film 4. At a process of forming the conductive film by applying liquid drop 12 containing conductive film forming material between a pair of element terminals 2, 3, prior to applying the liquid drop to a subscribed part on the surface of a member to be treated, ultraviolet light 19 is irradiated on the part to be applied by an ultraviolet light source 22 of an ultraviolet light irradiation device arranged near to a head 20 of an ink jet device, through a glass fiber 23.
