To provide a method of driving an ink jet printer capable of performing high quality color printing by suppressing or preventing occurrence of bleeding.

First and second ink nozzle arrays 100, 200 are provided on a nozzle face 4a of an ink jet head in the ink jet printer. The first ink nozzle array 100 includes an ink nozzle array 11C for ejecting cyan ink, an ink nozzle array 11M for ejecting magenta ink and an ink nozzle array 11Y for ejecting yellow ink and the second nozzle array 200 includes ink nozzles 12 for ejecting black ink. When color printing is performed, a group of the ink nozzles 12 in the second nozzle array 200 disposed corresponding to the ink nozzle array 11C for ejecting cyan ink are used to execute the ejection of the black ink. As bleeding of the cyan ink is not so conspicuous compared to other colors, it is possible to suppressing the lowering of quality in the color printing.
