Abstract:

To provide a water-based ink which is used for ink jet printers, can stably be discharged from a nozzle, can form images having good scratch resistance, water resistance and marker resistance, and has excellent ink (image) fixity.

This water-based ink for ink jet recording, comprising at least a coloring material and a resin, is characterized in that the resin is a copolymer having at least one hydrophilic block comprising a vinyl ether-based polymer and a hydrophobic block comprising a vinyl ether-based polymer, wherein the vinyl ether-based polymer of the hydrophilic block has anionic groups.
