Abstract:
To provide an ink jet printer in which ejection state of ink of a print head can be recovered periodically without spoiling user's usability.
When the time clocked by a timekeeping circuit 28 exceeds a time interval stored in a purge interval memory 14b and falls within a time band stored in a silent mode time memory 13b, a purge motor 80 is driven at 1,000 rpm to suppress drive sound thereof. When purge processing is performed periodically, drive sound of the purge motor 80 can be suppressed during the time band stored in the silent mode time memory 13b.
