To provide an ink-jet printer that allows ink droplets ejected from an ink discharge port on the lower face of an ink-jet head to be accurately landed at desired positions on the surface of a printing medium below the ink-jet head even when expanding a printing gap H between the ink-jet head and the surface of a printing medium part below the ink-jet head.
Gas existing between the surface of the printing medium 10 stretched in the air and the ink-jet head 30 is sucked and eliminated to the rear face side of the printing medium 10 through mesh-like air holes of the printing medium 10 by using a gas suction means 50. The ink droplets ejected from the ink-jet head 30 are surely landed at the desired positions on the surface of the printing medium 10 without being finely dispersed into a mist along with a laminar airflow of gas continuously flowing from around the ink-jet head 30 to the rear face side of the printing medium 10 through the mesh-like air holes of the printing medium 10 below the ink-jet head.
