Abstract:
To make it possible for an operator to sufficiently observe a state in a housing.SOLUTION: An ink jet printer 10 comprises: a platen 25; a carriage 17; a transportation component which transports a recording medium; a recording head Hdi which discharges an ink droplet toward the recording medium and performs recording; a housing Cs which comprises a front wall Wf, a top wall Wt and a back wall Wr, and surrounds a body of the ink jet printer; a transmission window for observation of a state in the housing Cs; an illumination device 45 which emits light generated by a light source as emission light; and a light guide diffuser 46 which comprises a light transparent material, introduces and diffuses emission light, and radiates radiant light and irradiates an object to be irradiated. Since the object to be irradiated is irradiated with radiant light of which a direction is changed, the object can be irradiated even if the carriage 17 exists at any place. A state in the housing Cs can be sufficiently observed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
