Title:
INK JET PRINTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3232073
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inkjet printer in which the number of parts is decreased and the reliability is enhanced while reducing the size and manufacturing cost by providing a pump mechanism having a simple structure and insusceptible to the accuracy of parts and a driving means thereof.
SOLUTION: A pump mechanism comprises a resilient tube held on the outer circumference of a chamber formed by a pump base and a pump rotor, and a pump ball disposed to roll freely in the chamber. When the pump rotor rotates, the pump ball moves rotationally while collapsing the resilient tube to function as a fluid pump. Consequently, the pump structure is simplified and insusceptible to variation in the accuracy of parts to be fixed. In order to obtain the driving force of the pump from a medium carrying/driving system, a power transmission means for transmitting/releasing the rotational force is provided additionally thus eliminating the need of a dedicated pump driving source. Since a part is added to the carrying mechanism of a conventional printer, total number of parts is decreased and the total cost and size can be reduced. A highly reliable ink jet bankbook printer can thereby be provided.
