Abstract:
To provide an ink jet printing apparatus capable of suppressing erroneous detection caused by dispersion of properties of a recording sheet and detecting an image defect with high accuracy.SOLUTION: An ink jet printing apparatus includes: an ink jet recording section; and an inspection device. The inspection device has an image reading section for reading images recorded on a recording sheet, a storage section for storing the images read by the image reading section as image data, and a comparison control section which sets one of the images stored in the storage section as a reference image and determines the presence or absence of an abnormality by comparing the image data of a comparison object image having the same pattern as that of the reference image with the image data of the reference image. The comparison control section continues an image recording operation by the ink jet recording section when the number of abnormalities is less than a prescribed value and stops the image recording operation when the number of abnormalities is the prescribed value or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
