PURPOSE: To obtain a record head whose filter effect is heightened, by layering an active energy line sensitive material of positive type on a base plate at forming a mold for an ink passage with a filler member and developing it after it is exposed through a pattern mask.

CONSTITUTION: In manufacturing a record head, a desired number of liquid discharge energy generating elements 2 are arranged on a first base plate 1 having active energy line transmissive property. Thereafter, a solid layer made of a filler member is formed at a liquid passage and a liquid chamber forming part in accordance with an image forming process of dry film by using, for example, a photosensitive dry film. Next, an active energy line curing material is layer so as to cover the solid layer and a second base plate 4 is layered thereon. After a pattern mask is layered on the liquid chamber forming predetermined part, it is irradiated with active energy line from the top of the mask so as to cure the active energy line curing material. Thereafter, the solid layer and the uncured active energy line curing material are removed by melting them so as to complete a record head.
