Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder in which only one specified nozzle array can be purged or all nozzle arrays can be purged simultaneously.
SOLUTION: At the time of purging one of a plurality of nozzle arrays, a first coupling opening 46 is set at the position of one second suction opening communicating with an enclosed space covering a specified nozzle array being purged by turning a switching member 42 and only that enclosed space is interconnected with a suction pump 27. At the time of purging all nozzle arrays, each second coupling opening 47-50 is set at a second suction opening 36-39 by turning the switching member 42 and all enclosed spaces are interconnected with the suction pump 27.
