PURPOSE: To simplify a construction and improve an operability by a method wherein a member for releasing the pressing of a paper presser plate is also used as a member for releasing the pressing of a roller, such as a spur, and the release of the pressing of another roller in feeding a recording medium is conducted simultaneously with the release of the pressing of the paper presser plate and the like.
CONSTITUTION: A spur 42 is separated from a paper discharge roller 41 by operating a lever 43 or the like engaging with one of support members disposed on the both ends. Then, this action is transmitted to a shaft member through a transmission member to rotate the shaft member. The shape of a cam 63 allows the pressing of a paper presser member 45 to be released. At the same time, the rotation of the shaft member is transmitted to the other support member through the other transmission member disposed on the other end. The support member causes a spur 42 to separate. In a similar manner, the pressing of a feed roller 39 can be released with the release of the pressing of the spurs 42 and the paper presser member 45.
