PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the use only of a normal cartridge and the refilling only with normal ink in an ink cartridge, an ink refilling device and an ink jet recording apparatus.
SOLUTION: Three ink housing containers 68 housed in the main body case 65 of a cartridge are isolated not only from four surfaces of the main body case 65 by partitions 66 and the pressing partition parts 76a, 76b projected from the partitions 66 but also from the bottom part of the main body case 65 by the difference in level of a lower cylindrical part and arranged so as to form a gap with respect to a closure 69 and only the refilling hole parts 72 of an upper cylindrical part communicate with the outside from the hole of the closure 69. A label 49 on which a trade mark 'ABC' is printed is bonded to the refilling hole parts 72 at three places. A label reader is provided on the side of a printer and no printing is applied to a cartridge other than the normal label. As a normal ink refilling jig, at least a set of an ink bottle and the label 49 is provided. The refilling of ink by perforation is ineffective at any part other than the refilling hole parts 72.
