Title:
INK JET RECORDING HEAD, AND ITS MANUFACTURE AND RECORDER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3032401
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make it possible to eject ink uniformly always in a specified direction when used, and thereby enable high-speed recording, realize a high-density nozzle arrangement and improve durability by implanting ions from an oblique direction against the normal of a discharge orifice during the ion implantation to modify the quality of an surface where the discharge orifice is formed.
CONSTITUTION: The subject ink jet recording head consists of a nozzle tube or a nozzle wall 3, a surface layer 2 formed on the former, and a liquid flow path 26 communicating with a discharge orifice 6. The surface layer 2 is formed by an ion implantation method. In this case, an implanted ion incident direction N2 is so arranged that it is gradient with the normal N1 of the discharge orifice 6. Although an angle θ formed by the N1 and the N2 is not necessary defined strictly, the angulation range is roughly 45°<θ<90°. Since the ion implantation from an oblique direction contributes to the modification of a material quality for the end surface where a discharge orifice is formed, the surface shows an extremely satisfactory cohesion. In addition, it is possible to improve water repellence and hardness as well as donate electroconductivity easily by selecting an ion species to be implanted.
