Abstract:
PURPOSE: To record a high quality image having no streak even on a recording medium having a elatively high ink absorbing power.
CONSTITUTION: Main scanning is performed by moving a recording head arranged with a plurality of rows of ink delivery elements in a direction different from the arranging direction of the ink delivery elements. After finishing the main scanning, image recording is performed by carrying a recording member by a specific width in a direction different from main scanning direction. In this regard, recording region of the recording head is split into a plurality(n) of subregions which are then used for performing main scanning (n) times for a unit image region on the recording medium. Images decimated at a printing ratio of l/n are then recorded sequentially thus completing recording of a unit image region. Printing ratio for pixel group at a border part is set lower than that for the entire unit image region at least once among (n) times of main scanning, thus increasing the number of pixels to be recorded at the border part through single main scanning.
