PURPOSE: To provide an ink which has such a high reliability that, even when used for recording on a plain paper, it develops the color well, gives a recorded image excellent in fixing and free from ink blurr even when two or more different-color inks are printed, and scarcely clogs a nozzle of an ink jet recording head and to provide a method for ink jet recording using the ink and an apparatus which uses the ink.
CONSTITUTION: An ink contains a recording agent, a liq. medium for dissolving the agent, and a compd. having thermally reversible gelling characteristics, is a homogeneous soln. at 25°C and a dispersion of a compd. having thermally reversible gelling characteristics dispersed in the ink soln. in a temp. range of 30-65°C, and is used for a recording unit, an ink cartridge, an ink jet recording apparatus, etc.
